I cant be hard for MS to ask upon install if "do you have xbox?, if not do plan to get one? do you need DVR/live streaming functions?" if no they just dont install or disable all that stuff. I dont even own MS XBOX of any kind and I never will, so i dont want any of if nor do i want the stupid DVR function and gamebar enabled by default i dont DVR and stream my games, nor will i never and there are other like me that think the same way so why it enabled by defualt is beyond me resoruces wasted by a fuction that will never be used is same thing as have 16gb of ram that never full used or all 16gb for somthing not used. ![]() Yah I original thought the GameBarPresenceWriter.exe was why some game where crashing to desktop if they where tab out of, but a CU a few months back fixed it, I still think all had something to do with integrate xbox into windows. ![]() (The group policy editor and registry editor are handy for W10 but not exactly something your average user would be making much use of for example.) RS2 also introduced that oddity "Disable fullscreen optimizations." compatibility options but I haven't found a definitive answer over what that actually entails, also handled via profile compatibility and something about behaving a bit like borderless mode but Microsoft really should provide some better documentation on some of these features, at least the ones regular users can access without jumping through various hops and what not. (I've had it disabled since RS2's release though even if it's intended to be lightweight having it use the HDD would contest with the game itself doing anything from streaming data to loading when switching levels no?) (Including uninstalling the XBox app itself.) though I can't say I'm too surprised since as I remember the feature keeps records of the last half hour or so played which would cause reads and writes to the HDD thus stuttering depending on the model of said hard drive and other possible bottlenecks. ![]() Game DVR has a profile file forgot what it was called but GameBarPresenceWriter.exe tends to pop up in the task manager for running processes whenever a compatible game is launched though this happens even if DVR recording is disabled or the entire game mode for that matter.
